Maharashtra: Eight killed in bus accident on Pune-Aurangabad highway

At least eight passengers were killed on Monday when a private bus in which they were travelling lost control and rammed into a stationery truck on the Pune-Aurangabad highway.

According to an official, the incident took place at around 5.30 a.m., when the bus was speeding from Aurangabad to Pune.

When the bus approached the Wadegavhan area, the bus driver suddenly lost control of the steering wheel and banged into the truck parked beside the highway.

Soon after the accident, police reached the spot and began the rescue and relief operation. 

All injured were rushed to Shirur hospital for treatment.
