BJP Slams Congress President Rahul Gandhi over his obsession for China

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday came down heavily on Congress President Rahul Gandhi over undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via China. BJP said that the Congress President is obsessed with China.

Sambit Patra, BJP spokesperson on Friday, while addressing a media briefing took a dig at Gandhi and said that Rahul is obsessed with China. He reminded Gandhi by saying he is “Rahul Gandhi” not “Chinese Gandhi.”

Patra further added, “Why Rahul Gandhi always behave like a Chinese spokesperson rather than an Indian spokesperson.”

BJP spokesperson questioned Gandhi about his Chinese perspective, “Why Congress President always wants to get a Chinese view on everything but does not want to have an Indian perspective?” Patra asked.

Questioning the connection between Rahul and China, Sambit asked, “Why Chinese ambassador was so keen to see off Rahul Gandhi to the Airport for his Yatra.”

He further said that at the time of Beijing Olympics 2008, China invited whole Gandhi family including, Sonia, Rahul, Robert Vadra, Priyanka to attend the Olympics as state dignitaries and none of them at that time were holding any government position.

Patra also asked Gandhi to tell the nation that on his trip, which politicians will he meet in China?

Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala clarifying the stand of the Congress on Friday questioned BJP that, “Why BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is so perturbed by Rahul Gandhi’s trip to Kailash Mansarovar”.

He further added that Rahul Gandhi is a shiv devotee and BJP is narrating a convoluted story about Rahul’s connection with China.

Congress general secretary Ashok Gehlot took to his twitter account and tweeted, “BJP’s criticism of #RahulGandhi ji’s #KailashMansarovarYatra is totally misplaced n inappropriate. Rahul ji is going on a pilgrimage n for worshiping #LordShiva, it is a holy journey, but BJP is playing politics”.

In another tweet by Congress general secretary, he said, “BJP is bringing up such issues as party leaders are frustrated n feeling insecure regarding Rahul Ji’s pilgrimage. Ruling Party cannot digest the fact that Congress Prez is taking up pilgrimage for his deep faith in #LordShiva. BJP’s reaction shows their narrow n mean mentality”
