The Opposition, however attacked the government for the loss of lives in Delhi.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi said, “the Central Government, especially the Home Minister, is responsible for the current situation in Delhi. Taking responsibility, the Home Minister should resign with immediate effect.”

“The Chief Minister & the Government of Delhi have also proved to be a complete failure in maintaining peace and are also responsible. The failure of both governments has made the country’s capital a victim of this tragedy,” Sonia added.
