Around 800 people in Delhi have been quarantined after they came in contact with a doctor of mohalla clinic who tested positive for coronavirus, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Thursday.

Jain added that people who came in contact with the 49-year-old doctor have been isolated for 14 days.

The doctor, his wife and daughter tested positive for the virus on Wednesday after they came in contact with an infected woman who returned from Saudi Arabia, Jain said.

The authorities asked all those who had visited the mohalla clinic in Mohanpuri area of Maujpur between March 12 and March 18 must stay in home quarantine for 15 days. Moreover, they were asked to contact the control room in case they display any virus-related symptoms.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in national capital has risen to 36 on Thursday, the minister said.
