Twitter briefly removes Amit Shah’s profile picture, reinstates later citing ‘inadvertent error’

Micro-blogging site Twitter on Thursday night removed the Display Picture (DP) of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in response to a “report from the copyright holder.”

However, it reinstated the picture after some time.

“Due to an inadvertent error, we temporarily locked this account under our global copyright policies. This decision was reversed immediately, and the account is fully functional,” Twitter spokesperson said.

On Thursday night, Clicking on Shah’s display picture on his Twitter handle showed a blank page with the message: ‘Media not displayed’. Twitter stated in the message -the image has been removed in response to a report from the copyright holder.

Shah is popular on social media with 23.6 million followers.
