The Supreme Court will on Wednesday hear pleas seeking removal of anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protesters (CAA) from Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh area.
The apex court had adjourned the hearing in the matter after the mediators submitted their report in a sealed cover on Monday.
On February 17, the Top Court had set up a mediation team to hold talks with the Shaheen Bagh protesters to move to another location where no public place would be blocked.
“People have the right to protest but the question is where to hold agitation. Blocking of roads was the only thing causing trouble. Democracy works on expressing views but there are lines and boundaries for it,” the court had said.
Many people have been staging a sit-in protest at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh area since mid-December last year against the CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
