Delhi Violence: Death toll rises to 20

The number of deaths in Northeast Delhi violence rose to 20 on Wednesday.

According to an official from Delhi’s Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, the death toll has risen to 20.

Over 150 people have been injured in the clashes that broke out between pro and anti-CAA groups in north east Delhi.

On Tuesday night, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval visited violence affected areas to get a stock of the situation. He also met with top police officers.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired three meetings in 24 hours.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala on Wednesday in a tweet expressed his concern over violence in North East Delhi.

Meanwhile, all private and government schools in Northeast Delhi will remain closed today and CBSE has postponed the board examination to be held in North East Delhi region.
