MHA summons DGP, chief secy over law and order situation in West Bengal

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday summoned Director General of Police (DGP) West Bengal and the Chief Secretary over the law and order situation in the state. It came a day after BJP chief JP Nadda’s convoy was attacked when he was heading towards Diamond Harbour area in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district.

MHA has summoned DGP and the Chief Secretary on December 14.  

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar today submitted his report to the Union Home Ministry on law and order in Bengal.

On Thursday, stones were hurled at the convoy of JP Nadda and party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya when they were heading towards Diamond Harbour area in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district.

Besides Nadda, a number of cars, including that of Kailash Vijayvargiya and Dilip Ghosh, were damaged in the attack.

According to the sources, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit West Bengal later this month.
