Attacking the centre over the farm laws, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that his party will never back off from opposing these laws.
“Every farmer will come on the road to fight against these laws and against your party. Congress party stands with all the farmers and will always support them,” Rahul said while addressing a gathering at party’s ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’ in Sangrur Punjab.
“They passed the three black farm laws amid Covid-19. What was the haste to do it at this time? They did it because they thought the farmers won’t be able to do anything, but they don’t know the power of a farmer,” Rahul Gandhi added.
Rahul later addressed the farmers of Bhawanigarh and criticised the Modi Government for destroying the existing procurement system instead of strengthening it. He along with Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Sunil Jakhar and other Congress leaders interacted with the farmers at Dana Mandi, Samana.
Rahul Gandhi on Sunday kick-started the three-day ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’ in Punjab to protest against the farm laws.
