India has reported 79,476 new cases of coronavirus and 1,069 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 64,73,544, while the death toll rose to 1,00,842, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 54,27,706 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 9,44,996 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 83.8%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 7.78 crore samples have been tested up to October 2 of which 11,32,675 samples were tested yesterday.
