Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 144th birth anniversary at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.
President Ram Nath Kovind and Union Home Minister Amit Shah among others paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Delhi.
During the day, Prime Minister Modi will also participate in the Ekta Diwas Parade, visit the Technology Demonstration Site and later interact with Civil Service Probationers at Kevadiya, the statement said.
Modi’s government has been observing Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary as ‘Ekta Diwas’ or National Unity Day since 2014 when he came into power.
