Chhattisgarh: CRPF Deputy Commandant killed in IED blast

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Deputy Commandant, who was injured in an IED blast in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, died on Monday.

Vikas Singhal, belonging to CoBRAs 208th battalion, died at around 1 am during treatment at a hospital in Raipur.

He was injured on Sunday in Kistaram forest area, when the improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Maoists exploded.

CRPF tweeted, “We salute the valour & steadfast devotion to duty of Shri Vikas Singhal, Deputy Commandant of #208Bn @CoBRASECTORHQ who made the supreme sacrifice while valiantly fighting the Maoists in Sukma, Chhattisgarh. We stand with the family of our Braveheart.”
