Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday delivered the inaugural address of the 95th annual plenary session of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and said, “Our country has gone through multiple challenges with coronavirus.” India is fighting COVID-19 but many other crises have emerged including floods, locust attack, earthquakes and cyclones in two different parts of the country.
Modi said every citizen of India has resolved to turn COVID-19 crisis into an opportunity. “We have to make it a major turning point for country. Coronavirus has given us the opportunity to turn India self-reliant,” Modi added.
He said ICC has contributed to develop East and northeast India, especially manufacturing sector there, are historical.
“We have to revive the historical excellence of Bengal in manufacturing sector. What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow,” Modi said.
