India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 2,86,579, Death toll at 8,102

India has so far registered 2,86,579 COVID-19 cases with 8,102 fatalities. There are 1,37,448 active cases while 1,41,028 have been cured/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 94,041 with 3,438 fatalities, according to Health Ministry.

Tamil Nadu continues to be the second-worst hit state with 36,841 Covid-19 cases and 326 deaths, followed by Delhi with 32,810 cases and 984 deaths, Gujarat – 21,521 cases and 1,347 fatalities.

A total of 52,13,140 samples have been tested as on June 11, of which 1,51,808 samples have been tested in last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
