The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on October 5 announced the appointment of Arindam Bagchi as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Croatia.
He is currently serving as India’s Deputy High Commissioner to Sri Lanka in Colombo.
Bagchi is a 1995 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer and he will take over from Sandeep Kumar, who has been serving as India’s Ambassador to Croatia since 2015.
He is expected to take up the new role and responsibilities shortly.
Earlier on October 4, MEA announced appointment of Sanjay Verma as India’s Ambassador to Spain.
He is a 1990 batch IFS official and is presently Additional Secretary in the ministry.
