India has reported record single-day high of 77,266 fresh cases of coronavirus and 1,057 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 33,87,500, while the death toll rose to 61,529, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 25,83,948 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 7,42,023 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 76.28%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 3.94 crore samples have been tested up to August 27 of which 9,01,338 samples were tested yesterday.
