India on Thursday recorded 66,999 cases and 942 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 23,96,637, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 16,95,982 have been cured/discharged. There are 6,53,622 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients stands at 70.77%.
A total of 47,033 coronavirus patients have lost their lives.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Thursday said a total of 2,68,45,688 samples have been tested up to August 12 of which 8,30,391 samples were tested yesterday.
