Two terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday, police said.
The gunfight started in Ranbirgarh area.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “#RanbirgarhEncounterUpdate: Another #unidentified #terrorist killed (total 02). Search going on. Further details shall follow.”
The encounter broke out after a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Ranbirgarh on a “specific information” about presence of terrorists there.
Chinar Corps-Indian Army earlier tweeted, “Op Ranbergad (#Srinagar). Joint Operation was launched today early morning on @JmuKmrPolice inputs. Cordon was laid & contact established. Firefight ensued. Joint Operation in progress.”
