Two explosions rock Indian Air Force station in Jammu

Two powerful explosions rocked in the high security technical area of Jammu in the early hours on Sunday. The first explosion took place at 1.37 am, the second happened at 1.42 am.

Preliminary reports confirmed that two people have sustained minor injuries by the particles from the blast. Security forces sealed the area to asses any further threat to security.

The case has been registered under Sections 16 and 18 of UAPA which relate to conspiracy and commission of terrorist acts.

Defence PRO Lt Colonel Devender Anand said no damage has been reported to the equipment present there. Investigation is on and further details are awaited, he added.

Police have also detained two people from near the area. They added that soon after the explosion, police send out a bomb disposal squad and a team of forensic experts to the technical area.

An alert has also been sounded across the Jammu division.
