Three terrorists killed in encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian

Three terrorists were killed on Saturday morning in an encounter with security forces in the Amshipora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The operation is currently underway.

Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “#ShopianEncounterUpdate: . So far 03 #unidentified #terrorists killed. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow.”

The security forces launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.

When the security forces approached the area, terrorists fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

Chinar Corps-Indian Army earlier tweeted, “Op Amshipora (#Shopian). Joint Operation was launched today early morning. The Security Forces were fired upon while laying the cordon, from the cow shed of the lone house in the orchard. Firefight ensued. Joint Operation in progress.”

This is the second encounter between security forces and terrorists in the last 24 hours in Kashmir. On Friday, three terrorists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Kulgam district.
