The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday announced that party president Sukhbir Singh Badal would contest as its Lok Sabha candidate from Punjab’s Ferozepur.
The party has also decided to renominate sitting MP and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal from Bathinda parliamentary seat.
Sukhbir Singh Badal will face Congress candidate Sher Singh Gubhaya in Ferozepur.
Ghubaya, the sitting MP from Ferozepur was elected in 2014 on the SAD ticket. but later joined the Congress.
Harsimrat will face Congress candidate, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring in Lok Sabha polls.
