Shivraj Singh Chouhan takes oath as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister

Senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday took oath as the Chief Minister of the state for the fourth time.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Shivraj after he took oath as CM, “Congratulations to Shri @ChouhanShivraj Ji on taking oath as CM of Madhya Pradesh. He is an able and experienced administrator who is extremely passionate about MP’s development. Best wishes to him for taking the state to new heights of progress,” PM Modi tweeted.

Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Friday resigned from CM post, hours ahead of a Supreme Court-ordered trust vote, thereby paving way for the opposition BJP to stake claim.

Nath submitted his resignation to Governor Lalji Tandon.

On March 11, Jyotiraditya Scindia joined BJP, ending his 18-year association with Congress. At least 22 MLAs of Congress resigned after Scindia’s exit and later joined BJP.
