Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday kick-started the ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’ in Punjab to protest against the farm laws.
Along with Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and other senior Congress leaders of the state, Rahul started the three-day protest at Badni Kalan, Moga.
“#KhetiBachaoYatra has commenced from Badni Kalan under the leadership of Shri @RahulGandhi Ji and Chief Minister @capt_amarinder Singh Ji,” Punjab Congress said in a tweet.
“At Badni Kalan, Moga with @RahulGandhi to start the 3-day protest, #KhetiBachaoYatra. We will put all our might to get the Anti-Farmer Laws repealed. I won’t let my Punjab farmers suffer because of such draconian laws,” Punjab CM said in a tweet.
Punjab has been witnessing state-wide protests against the recently passed farm laws by the Modi government, as more than 31 farmer organisations in Punjab are protesting against the new laws.
From all over the state farmers are stopping the movement of traffic at roads and highways. Many trains were suspended as farmers sat on rail tracks to protest against the laws.
