Global COVID-19 cases rise to 34.8 million with over 1.03 million deaths

The death toll due to COVID-19 has surpassed 1 million while over 34.8 million people got infected worldwide since surfacing in China late last year.

The United States has recorded the most deaths with over 2,09,000, followed by Brazil with more than 1,46,000 and India with more than 1,01,000 fatalities.

The US accounted for the world’s highest number of Covid-19 cases with over 7.41 million people infected. India came in second place with over 6.55 million cases.

Brazil ranks third in terms of cases. The country has so far recorded over 4.91 million COVID-19 cases followed by Russia, Colombia, Peru, Spain, Mexico and Argentina.
