Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation today at 8 pm, a day after he spoke to the state chief ministers through video conferencing to discuss the current situation of COVID-19 in the country.
“Shri @narendramodi will be addressing the nation at 8 PM this evening,” the Prime Minister’s Office tweeted.
This will be PM Modi’s third address to the nation on the coronavirus lockdown. He had first announced the lockdown on March 24, then announced its extension on April 14.
The total confirmed COVID-19 cases in India has crossed the 70,000-mark so far while the death toll jumped to 2,293. The active cases in the country stand at 46,008, while 22,454 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.
