Income Tax Department raid homes, other premises of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath’s close aides

The Income Tax (IT) department on Sunday morning conducted raids at the properties of close aides of Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath.

The raids were conducted at the homes of Nath’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Praveen Kakkar in Indore and former advisor Rajendra Kumar Miglani in Delhi, sources said. 

The two were under the scanner of the IT sleuths in connection with an alleged hawala (illegal transaction) case, sources added.

A team of over 15 income tax officers from Delhi reached the home of Kakkar in Indore at 3 am and started searching the premises.

They also raided a showroom in the same colony and some other properties were also searched.

The searches are currently underway at locations of MP Chief Minister’s OSD, Ratul Puri, Amira Group and Moser Baer. Searches are also underway in Bhopal, Indore, Goa and 35 locations in Delhi.

Over 300 Income Tax officials are conducting the searches.
