Voting for the assembly polls began on Monday morning in Haryana.
Polling started at 7 a.m. and will conclude at 6 p.m., officials said.
The prominent faces include Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, JJP’s Dushyant Chautala and INLD’s Abhay Singh Chautala.
Tight security arrangements have been made and several security personnel have been mobilised for the polls.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urge voters to turnout in record numbers and enrich the festival of democracy.
“Elections are taking place for Haryana and Maharashtra assemblies. There are also by-polls taking place in various parts of India. I urge voters in these states and seats to turnout in record numbers and enrich the festival of democracy. I hope youngsters vote in large numbers,” PM Modi tweeted.
