Pakistani forces on August 20 violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kamalkote sector of Baramullah district’s Uri in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Police added that no damage or casualty has been reported so far.
Superintendent of Police (SSP), Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain, said, that some mortar shells were fired by Pakistani forces in the Kamalkote area this afternoon.
The attack came just a day after newly-elected Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed on improving ties with neighboring countries in his inaugural speech.
In a similar incident on August 17, Pakistan violated the ceasefire protocol in Poonch sector’s Chakan da Bagh.
On August 18, Pakistani troops had also violated the ceasefire along the LoC in Uri sector.
