Former Indian cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday arrived in Lahore, Pakistan to take part in the oath-taking ceremony of Imran Khan as Prime Minister.
He arrived in Lahore via the Wagah border and would travel to Islamabad to attend Khan’s swearing-in ceremony which will be held on Saturday.
Sidhu used his poetic expression while interacting with reporters.
He said, “I have come as a friend, not a politician and have come to take part in my friend’s (Imran) oath’s ceremony”.
He was among the first cricketers from India to congratulate Imran Khan after his victory in Pakistan elections.
Former Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, who were invited for oath-taking ceremony, declined the invitation citing personal engagements.
