Prime Minister Narendra Modi in ‘a candid and completely non-political’ conversation with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar said that he never thought he would become prime minister one day.
Modi also shared that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sends him gifts three-four times a year.
Modi said, “People will be surprised and I should not say this in the election season, but Mamata Banerjee sends me gifts every year. She still sends me one or two kurtas a year.
On being asked why he doesn’t have his family living with him at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi, PM Modi said that he relinquished everything when he was young, he left his family at a very young age and that is the reason he is able to bear the separation.
While talking about his tenure as Gujarat’s chief minister, PM Modi said that the experience helped him in carrying out his duties as Prime Minister.
Akshay took to Twitter to announce that his conversation with the prime minister will be a “breather” in election time.
A day before releasing the conversation, Akshay tweeted, “While the whole country is talking elections and politics, here’s a breather. Privileged to have done this candid and COMPLETELY NON-POLITICAL freewheeling conversation with our PM @narendramodi.”
To which PM Modi replied, “Dear @akshaykumar, it was good talking to you about everything, except politics and elections 🙂 I’m sure people would like watching our conversation.”
