‘Looking forward’ to India visit, says US President Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump on Saturday said that he is looking forward to going to India in two weeks to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Great honor, I think? Mark Zuckerberg recently stated that “Donald J. Trump is Number 1 on Facebook. Number 2 is Prime Minister Modi of India.” Actually, I am going to India in two weeks. Looking forward to it!,” President Trump tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier said that he was extremely delighted that US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will visit India on February 24 and 25.

PM Modi said, “India will accord a memorable welcome to our esteemed guests. This visit is a very special one and it will go a long way in further cementing India-USA friendship.”

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will be in India on a two-day visit on February 24 and 25.

“During the visit, President Trump and the First Lady will attend official engagements in New Delhi and Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and interact with a wide cross-section of Indian society Ministry of External Affairs had said in a statement.

The global strategic partnership between India and the US is based on trust, shared values, mutual respect and understanding, and marked by warmth and friendship between the peoples of the two countries. The relationship has further evolved under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and President Trump, with significant progress in all areas including trade, defence, counter-terrorism, energy, coordination on regional and global issues as well as people-to-people ties, the statement said.

The visit will provide an opportunity for the two leaders to review progress in bilateral ties and further strengthen our strategic partnership.
