Uttar Pradesh chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also welcomed the CBI special court verdict and said “Satyamev Jayate- truth has won”.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan hailed the Indian judicial system.
“Truth can be troubled, but it cannot be defeated. Today, truth has won again. I hail the Indian judicial system,” Chouhan tweeted.
A special court in Lucknow delivered the much-awaited judgment in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case. All the 32 accused have been acquitted.
The Babri Masjid was demolished in December 1992 by “kar sevaks” who claimed that the mosque in Ayodhya was built on the site of an ancient Ram temple. The land dispute over the site was settled last year by the Supreme Court, which allowed the construction of a Ram temple. The court also directed that an alternative site should be allotted in Ayodhya for the construction of a mosque.
