Little relief to the people: fuel prices stable since two days

Petrol and diesel prices stable for the last two days. There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel from the public sector oil companies for the second day today.

On Wednesday, the price of diesel was reduced from Rs 13 to Rs. 11 while the price of petrol was reduced by Rs 8 to Rs 7. Even today, there is no change in the prices of petrol and diesel; the consumers have got a lot of relief.

Giving relief to the common man, there has been a fall in the oil prices. Earlier, the price of diesel had reached above Rs 100 in many states. The rising petrol and diesel prices in the country was badly affecting to the pocket of common man.

Petrol price in Delhi was Rs 103.97 per litre and diesel is Rs 86.67 per litre today. The price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 109.98 and the price of diesel is Rs 94.14 per litre. Petrol in Kolkata costs Rs 104, 67 while diesel costs Rs 89.79 per litre. At the same time, petrol in Chennai is Rs 101.40 a litre and diesel is Rs 91.43 a litre.

Before Diwali, the Central government has drastically cut excise duty on diesel and petrol, which has made diesel-petrol little cheaper. The central government has cut the Excise Duty on Petrol by Rs 5, while the Excise Duty on Diesel has been cut by Rs 10. At the same time, many states have also given relief by cut on VAT.
