Kirari fire: Delhi government announces compensation, orders Magisterial enquiry

Delhi government on Monday announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for the kin of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for those injured in the fire which broke out in a cloth godown in Kirari area. It also Ordered Magisterial inquiry into the incident.

9 people lost their lives including 3 children in the fire which broke out in early hours of Monday in a three-story residential-cum-commercial building in outer Delhi’s Kirari area.

Expressing grief over the loss of lives, Kejriwal said, “Very sad news. The fire was controlled but 9 people could not be saved. May their soul rest in peace.”

Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain in a tweet said, “Inspected Kirari fire where in a tragic incidence 9 people died and 3 injured. Ordered Magisterial enquiry  to fix responsibility. Delhi Govt. to provide Rs. 10 lakh compensation for deceased; Rs. 1 lakh for those injured and their treatment.
