Two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out on early Wednesday between security forces and terrorists.
Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted, “02 #JeMterrorists killed in the ongoing operation. #Arms & ammunition recovered. Searches in the area are going on. Further details shall follow.”
According to the officials, Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Shopian after getting specific information about presence of terrorists there.
When the cordon around the hiding terrorists was tightened, they fired at the security forces triggering an encounter, police said.
Jammu and Kashmir police earlier tweeted, “Encounter is in progress at #Shopian. SFs on job. Further details shall follow.”
As per the reports, search operation is underway.

This came a day after Indian fighter jets struck a training camp of terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed across the Line of Control.
