Coronavirus cases in India rise to 2,07,615, Death toll at 5,815

India’s COVID-19 cases has risen to 2,07,615 with 5,815 fatalities. There are 1,01,497 active cases while 1,00302 have been cured/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has jumped to 72,300 with 2,465 fatalities, according to Health Ministry. 

Tamil Nadu continues to be the second-worst hit state with 24,586 Covid-19 cases and 197 deaths, followed by Delhi with 22,132 cases and 556 deaths, Gujarat – 17,617 cases and 1,092 fatalities.

A total 41,03,233samples have been tested as on June 3, of which 1,37,158 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.

The Health Ministry on Tuesday said the recovery rate is 48.07% amongst COVID-19 patients. India’s recovery rate continues to increase, and the fatality rate is one amongst the lowest in the world.

“As on Tuesday, the fatality rate is 2.82%,” the Ministry said.
