One terrorist was killed on Tuesday in an ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in Gund area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
“#TerrorismFreeKashmir. One terrorist eliminated in an encounter near Gund, #Ganderbal. Operation in progress,” tweeted Chinar Corps – Indian Army.
Security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area of following inputs about the presence of terrorists. During the search, the hiding terrorists fired upon the security forces, who retaliated in which one terrorist was killed, officials said.
Kashmir Zone Police earlier in a tweet said, “Encounter has started at #Gund, #Ganderbal. Further details shall follow.”
This came a day after two terrorists were neutralised in an encounter with security forces in Bandipora.
