President Kovind, PM Modi greet nation on 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday greeted nation on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

“On the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, greetings to all fellow citizens, especially to our Sikh brothers and sisters in India and abroad. The life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji inspires us to build a society based on his teachings of equality, compassion and social amity,” Kovind said in a tweet.

President Kovind will also visit Punjab today to attend the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev, organised by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Amritsar Sahib at Sultanpur Lodhi, the release said.

On this auspicious occasion, Prime Minister Modi said, “this is a day to rededicate ourselves to fulfilling Guru Nanak Dev’s dream of a just, inclusive and harmonious society.”
