An encounter is underway between the security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday morning.
Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted, “Brief exchange of fire between SFs and terrorists in #Kulgam area. Area under cordon. Details shall follow.”
The security forces had cordoned the Kellam Devsar area in Kulgam following specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
As the search operations were underway in the area, the militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight.
The gunfight broke out during a search operation in the area.
No causalities have been reported so far.
