India has reported 61,408 fresh cases of coronavirus and 836 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 31,06,349, while the death toll rose to 57,542, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 23,38,036 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 7,10,771 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients stands at 74.90%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Monday said a total of 3,59,02,137 samples have been tested up to August 23 of which 6,09,917 samples were tested yesterday.
