Jammu and Kashmir: Baramulla encounter concludes, two terrorists killed

The encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists on Wednesday in Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir has been concluded on Thursday morning.

According to the reports, two militants were killed in the encounter.

The gunfight started at Brath kalan-Gund Mohalla of Sopore in Baramulla district.

Jammu and Kashmir police had earlier tweeted, “Exchange of fire between #Terrorists & Security forces at Brath Kalan #Sopore. Area is under cordon. Details will follow.”

Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Brath Kalan area of Sopore following inputs about the presence of militants there, a police official said.

Terrorists later opened fire at the security forces, leading to an encounter.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Jammu and Kashmir police recently tweeted, “#Sopore encounter update: 02 #terrorists killed. #Arms & ammunitions recovered. Identities being ascertained.”
