India’s Coronavirus cases rise to 5,08,953; Death toll at 15,685

The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 5,08,953 as it recorded 18,552 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 15,685 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday.

There are 1,97,387 active cases while 2,95,880 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,52,765 with 7,106 fatalities.

Delhi has the second highest COVID-19 cases – 77,240 with 2,492 deaths, followed by Tamil Nadu – 74,622 cases and 957 deaths, Gujarat – 30,095 cases and 1,771 fatalities.

A total of 79,96,707 samples have been tested so far of which 2,20,479 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
