A day after Uttar Pradesh child rights panel issued a notice to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over her comments on the Kanpur shelter home, the Congress general secretary on Friday dared the Uttar Pradesh government to take whatever action it wants against her, but she will keep highlighting the truth.
“They can take whatever action they want. I will keep putting forth the truth. I am Indira Gandhi’s granddaughter, not an undeclared BJP spokesperson like some of the opposition leaders,” Priyanka tweeted.
“As a public servant my duty is towards the people of Uttar Pradesh, and this duty is to put out the truth before them. My duty is not to put forth the government propaganda. The Uttar Pradesh government is wasting its time by threatening me through its various departments,” she added.
The Congress leader in a Facebook post on Sunday cited a media report about two girls being found pregnant at the state-run child shelter home in Kanpur.
