Farmers’ Protest: Farmers resume march towards Delhi

Thousands of protesting farmers, who stopped for the night at Panipat on Friday, resumed their ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest against Centre’s farm laws.

Heavy Security has been deployed at Rohtak-Jhajjar border, Singhu in large numbers.

Delhi Metro services from neighbouring cities to the national capital will remain suspended on Friday. However, metro services will be available from Delhi towards the NCR sections.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday in a tweet said, “Update for tomorrow (27.11.2020) As advised by Delhi Police, Metro services will be available only from Delhi towards the NCR sections. However, services from the NCR stations towards Delhi will not be available due to security reasons till further notice.”

The farmers on Thursday, braved water cannons and tear gas shells to break through police barricades at several places on the Punjab-Haryana border while heading to Delhi. The group of farmers allegedly tried to jump police barricades to enter Haryana. Several protestors pelted stones at the Shambhu border (Punjab-Haryana border).

Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana yesterday engaged in twitter spat as farmers from Punjab, marched towards Delhi in protest against the farm laws and were denied entry into Haryana.
