US President Donald Trump said that the death rate in the country due to novel coronavirus could reach its peak in two weeks.
During a briefing at the White House, Trump said that he was extending the social distancing guidelines until April 30.
“The peak of this virus’ death rate is likely to hit in two weeks. We MUST stay the course and keep following the guidelines. “Nothing would be worse than declaring victory before the victory is won,” Trump said.
Moreover, Trump said he expects the US will be on its way to recovery by June 1.
“The American people have embodied the unrivaled patriotism and willpower that has led America to conquer every challenge—every single one—in our Nation’s history,” Trump added.
As per the latest data, the US has over 2400 COVID-19 deaths and the total number of confirmed cases has crossed 140000.
