Cabinet Secretary says no plan of extending 21-day lockdown

The government on Monday said there was no plan of extending the 21-day nationwide lockdown.

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) today in a tweet said Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba had denied the reports claiming that the government would extend the lockdown.

Gauba said, “there is no such plan of extending the 21-day nationwide lockdown.”

“There are rumours & media reports, claiming that the Government will extend the #Lockdown21 when it expires. The Cabinet Secretary has denied these reports, and stated that they are baseless,” the tweet said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday ordered a 21-day lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
