COVID-19: Global death toll surpasses 600,000 mark

The global death toll due to coronavirus pandemic has passed 6,00,000-mark on Sunday, while the total infections have surged past 14 million worldwide, according to Worldometer.

The United States remains the worst affected by the virus outbreak with over 140,000 Covid-19-related deaths, followed by Brazil over 78,000, Britain more than 45,000, Mexico with over 38,000 and Italy with more than 35,000 fatalities.

The number of deaths linked to COVID-19 has doubled in more than two months and since June 28 over 100,000 new deaths have been registered.

The virus which was first originated in China’s Wuhan has spread to at least 200 countries.
