Car blast near a CRPF bus causes panic in J&K

SRINAGAR: A blast in a Santro car near a CRPF bus once again caused panic in J&K, this time along Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Banihal tunnel.

The CRPF vehicle suffered minor damage in the accident. There was no loss of life. The driver of the vehicle who is absconding has jumped out and escaped from vehicle before the blast.

The car was coming from Srinagar and heading probably towards Jammu.

The CRPF in a statement said, “An explosion took place in a civil car near Banihal while CRPF convoy was on move. The car caught fire and slight damage was caused in the rear of one of the CRPF vehicle. No injuries were caused to CRPF Personnel. Incident being investigated in respect to all possible angles.”

However,  so far the early analysis of the blast points towards the blast being caused by the bursting of a cylinder. Police also has found an exploded cylinder along with an unexploded one found at the  site.
