Chemistry beat arithmetic in elections, says Modi in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said chemistry defeated arithmetic in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

“Elections are all about arithmetic but there is chemistry that goes beyond poll arithmetic. This time chemistry has triumphed over arithmetic,” he said at a thanksgiving function in Varanasi.

He thanked Varanasi voters for electing him by a huge margin.

“The nation might have elected me as the PM but for you, I am a worker. For me, your orders were the priority,” said Modi.

Modi gave full credit for his victory to the workers at the grassroots level.

“I thank the workers for not making the election a war and the rival candidates for maintaining the dignity of Kashi,” he said.

Modi visited the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple in the city and offered prayers. He was accompanied by BJP president Amit Shah and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

Modi on Sunday visited his home state Gujarat and took his mother’s blessings.

PM Modi won from Varanasi by a huge margin of 4.79 lakh votes in Lok Sabha Elections.

The BJP won 303 out of the 542 seats in the Lok Sabha Polls.
