Army Soldier arrested from Meerut cantonment on charges of spying

An Indian Army soldier on Wednesday was arrested from Meerut cantonment on the charges of espionage.

He is currently being questioned for more information.

The authorities are also trying to ascertain if more people are involved in this espionage racket.

The arrest comes just days after Nishant Agrawal an engineer at the BrahMos production centre near Nagpur was arrested on charges of passing on crucial information.

Agarwal was taken from Nagpur to Lucknow, where he was interrogated.

Agarwal was arrested in a joint operation by the anti-terrorist squad (ATS) units of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh from BrahMos’ Wardha Road facility for allegedly leaking technical facets of the medium range supersonic cruise missiles to Pakistan.
